Over 52000 Toyotas in South Africa have been recalled due to a faulty accelerator mechanism.

" Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) today announced the vehicles to be included in its recall service campaign to correct the accelerator mechanism in these cars.
The list of affected vehicles is the result of an exhaustive technical study which covered all Toyota vehicles on sale in South Africa. The affected passenger vehicle models are:
Toyota Corolla (February 2007 to January 2010) – 45 040 vehicles Toyota Auris (June 2006 to January 2010) – 6 665 vehicles Toyota Verso (October 2008 to January 2010) – 841 vehicles
This equates to a total of 52 546 Toyota vehicles that will form part of this campaign.
German firm Mercedes welcome back their former 'apprentice' in 2010
After weeks of speculation Mercedes confirmed on Wednesday that Michael Schumacher will make a comeback to race for the team next season alongside fellow German Nico Rosberg.
Schumacher, who retired at the end of 2006, has signed a deal that will see him return to the Formula One grid at the age of 41, bidding to add to his record tally of 91 wins and seven world titles.
It follows a planned comeback earlier this year for Ferrari - the team with which he won his last five drivers’ championships - to replace the injured Felipe Massa. Those plans had to be abandoned because of a neck injury from a motorbike accident.
BMW has unveiled the details of a new flagship model to the BMW Z4 range, the BMW Z4 sDrive35is.
This offering has an even higher standard of performance ensured both by the modified straight-six power unit with BMW Twin Turbo Technology and High Precision Injection, on the one hand, and by BMW’s seven-speed Sport Automatic with double clutch operation and the M Sports Package including the adaptive M Suspension likewise featured as standard.
Appropriate optimisation in engine technology increases maximum output of the 3.0-litre power unit to 250 kW, whilst peak torque is 450Nm, increasing briefly with the Overboost function to 500Nm. The BMW Z4 sDrive35is will make its world debut at the 2010 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. And parallel to the market launch of this high-performance roadster, will be the M Sports Package made available for all derivatives of the Z4 roadster.
